As part of Manifesta 16 Ruhr and the exhibition Das öffentliche Grün at the Kunstmuseum Bochum, a collaborative installation and performance with young people was developed over the course of three days during the Cypherweek.
The starting point was an exploration of water as a shared resource, a system of relationships, and a medium of connection. Through a theatre-pedagogical warm-up, the participants explored where water appears in our environment, how it moves through spaces and landscapes, and what role it plays within the idea of “public green.”
The thoughts, observations, and impulses gathered throughout the process were then developed further through visual and performative practices. The young participants created circular elements from fabric, canvas, and metal, which became Bodies of Water — a collective magnetic installation forming part of the stage design for the performance.

Im Rahmen der Manifesta16 Ruhr und der Ausstellung Das öffentliche Grün des Kunstmuseums Bochum entstand während der Cypherweek innerhalb von drei Tagen eine gemeinsame Installation und Performance mit Jugendlichen.
Ausgangspunkt war die Auseinandersetzung mit Wasser als gemeinschaftlicher Ressource, Beziehungssystem und Medium der Verbindung. In einem theaterpädagogischen Warm-up wurde erkundet, wo Wasser in unserer Umwelt vorkommt, wie es sich durch Räume und Landschaften bewegt und welche Rolle es für das „öffentliche Grün“ spielt.
Die dabei gesammelten Gedanken, Beobachtungen und Impulse wurden anschließend bildnerisch und performativ weiterentwickelt. Die Jugendlichen gestalteten kreisförmige Elemente aus Stoff, Leindwand und Metall, die zu Bodies of Water, zu einer kollektiven magnetischen Installation teil des Bühnenbildes der Performance wurden.
